Overview
Join me as I share with you the experience of “Day of the Dead" or in Mexico known as “Dia de los Muertos,” a celebration of life. We will be exploring visiting the towns of Patzcuaro and the cemeteries of Tzintzuntzan, in the state of Michoacan. This specific area is known around the world, as the best place to celebrate this 3000 plus year tradition.

In traveling this area I have been so fortunate to meet the most gracious people. They will be our special host, as they share their culture and traditions that have been passed down thru the generations.

We will have the opportunity to visit award winning stone sculpture's, furniture makers, weavers and an actual copper factory.

Our home base for this adventure will be a hacienda style hotel located a few blocks off the Patzcuaro’s main plaza.

On November 1st we will be guest of a 15th century convent (see photo on right). The day will be filled with opportunities to build alters, join in the parade to start the celebration, eat an authentic private meal prepared by the convent and actually be a part of their 3,000 year plus tradition. This town is opening their arms and welcoming us into their lives.

Agenda
The agenda below is very general and all activities are optional. This experience will be a combination of learning more about this Mexican tradition, this region of Mexico but more then anything about the celebration of life.

• October 30 arrive in Patzcuaro - welcome dinner
• October 31 Breakfast and exclusive shopping with the some of Karen’s favorite artist at the hotel then off exploring Patzcuaro, visiting colonial historic Morelia and dinner
• November 1 Breakfast - celebration in Tzintzuntzan
  Day will include tours of pyramids, lunch, building of alters, art classes, shopping, lunch, snacks, authentic dinner and entertainment, touring the cemeteries and celebration of life.
• November 2 Breakfast depart for Mexico City, dinner Mexico City
• November 3 See Mexico City and depart or add the following option:

I want to stay another day in Mexico City and invite you to join me and depart on November 4th. If you are interested in this option please let me know and I will get you the additional cost.
